During the 37th match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) at Mumbai, Mumbai Indians scored 181-4 in their allotted quota of 20 overs.
Dinesh Karthik, captain of Kolkata Knight Riders, won the toss and chose to field. The Knight Riders included Nitish Rana and Prasidh Krishna into the playing eleven in place of Rinku Singh and Shivam Mavi. On the other hand, Mumbai Indians fielded an unchanged playing eleven.
Mumbai Indians started their innings in a swift manner. At the end of the powerplay, Mumbai Indians had scored 56-0. Suryakumar Yadav and Evin Lewis did not waste much time in targeting the opposition bowlers. They stitched a 91-run partnership to lay a foundation for the batsmen to follow.
At the halfway mark, Mumbai Indians had scored 95-1. Wickets started to fall soon afterward, which didn’t let Mumbai Indians finish in the way they would have liked to. Had Hardik Pandya not played a cameo in the death overs, Mumbai Indians would have been in a spot of bother.
Suryakumar Yadav top-scored for Mumbai Indians, scoring 59 (39) with the help of seven fours and two sixes. For the Knight Riders, with bowling figures of 2-0-12-2, Andre Russell was the pick of their bowlers. Watch how Twitterati reacted on Mumbai Indians’ innings:
181 is something to play with but not enough to dream about getting points. #MI will have to bowl well to stay alive in the #IPL

Interesting choice to have Duminy ahead of Cutting or Ishan Kishan. Thought Cutting was there to bat at the end. A few runs here and there mean so much now.

91 run opening stand in 9.2 overs. Lewis & Surya have set it up for Rohit and the batters to go for 200 #MIvKKR

Feeling worried for Suryakumar Yadav. Physically drained. It’ll be tough to go on for too long. Perhaps, time to pass on the baton. #MIvKKR #IPL

Statistically the 1st over is the most economical in this format, brilliant call from DK to get Nitish to bowl #MIvKKR

Cutting ahead of Duminy, no? With only 18 balls to go… #MIvKKR #IPL

Rohit v Narine, a developing love story.#MIvKKR #IPL2018

Against #MumbaiIndians, KKR don't have a good record at all. So nothing can be predicted as of now. Hope for the best #MIvKKR

Would’ve liked Milne or Fizz for Cutting. He’s batting way too low for a batsman of his abilities. Looking forward to watch Prasidh Krishna for #KKR. Tall, high-arm action…reasonably quick. Good fun. #MIvKKR #IPL

Mumbai are always 25 runs short of what they should have got this season. Every damn match. Ada pongadaa. #MIvKKR
