During the 31st match of the 11th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Mumbai Indians (MI) at Bengaluru, Virat Kohli, captain of Royal Challengers Bangalore, took a screamer to dismiss Hardik Pandya.

After Rohit Sharma won the toss and put the Royal Challengers in to bat, the home team rode heavily on Manan Vohra’s enterprising 45 (31). After the young man got out, Brendon McCullum and Virat Kohli looked set to play a substantial innings for their match. Having said that, the wicket of McCullum followed by Hardik Pandya taking three wickets in an over dented the home team to a great extent. Colin de Grandhomme’s late burst propelled the Royal Challengers to 167-7 in 20 overs.

Hardik Pandya, who came in to bat at No. 6 in the eighth over, top-scored for Mumbai Indians. His team required 25 runs in the last over. With him on strike, there was this very-difficult-outside-chance for his team to win.

On the first ball of the last over, he hit a Tim Southee delivery to Kohli at long on. Kohli ran in and put out a dive to grab the ball. He affected a similar catch in the last match, but the possible outcome of the match had brought in his change in his celebration.
