Middle-order
AB de Villiers (RCB) – 99 runs
AB de Villiers has again been quite impactful for RCB. It was between him and Shane Watson to grab this spot in the XI. Apart from scoring 97 against SRH, Watson failed to do much and that creates doubts about his consistency. But De Villiers, who enjoyed a break, finally delivered and played much impactful match-winning knock against KXIP. Thus, he finds an edge over Watson.
Manish Pandey (SRH) – 144 runs
Nitish Rana has become the x-factor for SRH in the fifth week pf IPL 2019. He was always regarded to be talented but never managed to create as big an impact as he did in the fifth week of this season. In the game against CSK, he almost took the game away from the visitors along with the help of David Warner. Batting at three against CSK, he mustered an aggressive 83 from 49 balls in that game. He finished the week with 144 runs in 2 games as scored another fifty in the game against RR.
Dinesh Karthik (KKR) (wk) (c) – 112 runs
Dinesh Karthik had a memorable week with the bat as he has never got out. However, this week his team finally managed a win after facing a losing streak. He scored an unbeaten 97 in just 50 balls against RR but his team lost the game. He nearly finished the game for his team against RR. He showed the intent to go big in the game against MI as well and helped his team to reach the biggest total of the season.
