Middle Order
Shreyas Iyer (DC) – 138 runs
After a poor outing in the first week, DC skipper Shreyas Iyer has done a decent job in the second. His team played three games this week. Iyer started off with being a lone warrior for his team against the Sunrisers Hyderabd. In that game, he got out after scoring 43 runs as Rashid Khan got him bowled. His best knock of this season came against RCB where he amassed 67 runs off 49 deliveries. Under pressure, he faced a bit of failure against KXIP where he scored 28 runs. Yet, he remains one of the better batsmen of this week.
Sarfaraz Khan (KXIP) – 106 runs
He has been enjoying a decent run in IPL 2019. He started the second week with 39 runs off 29 balls against DC. Safaraz smashed six fours in that innings and was looking a good knick. In the next game when he faced CSK, he was looking even better as he amassed 67 runs off 59 balls on a sluggish track. Even though he did well, KXIP lost the game.
MS Dhoni (c)(wk) (CSK) – 49 runs
In the second week, CSK faced their first defeat of the season under the leadership of MS Dhoni against the Mumbai Indians. In that game, Dhoni failed to do well for his team. But he proved his worth again during the game against KXIP in Chennai. The pitch which was quite sluggish to bat on in the second half of the innings. Despite scoring just 14 off the first 15 balls, he took a sudden rise in his knock as he smashed 23 runs in next 8 balls and managed to finish the game well for his team. His knock made the potential difference in this game. His captaincy was also spot-on.
