Ravichandran Ashwin (KXIP) – 5 wickets
Despite being dropped from India’s limited-overs squad for a year now, R Ashwin had to perform well in IPL 2019 in order to prove his worth. In the second week, he had a fruitful outing against the Delhi Capitals where he picked up two wickets. His best performance came against CSK in Chennai. He took three crucial wickets in that match of Shane Watson, Faf du Plessis, and Suresh Raina.
Shreyas Gopal (RR) – 5 wickets
Gopal had a memorable outing in the second week for the Rajasthan. Against RCB, he picked up the prized wickets of Virat Kohli and AB de Villiers along with Shimron Hetmyer as well. The leg-spinner followed up this exceptional performance with a great outing against KKR as well. He was the only bowler from his team who picked up wickets in that match for his team. He tried to get his team back into the game but it was too late by then as Chris Lynn and Sunil Narine almost took the team over the line.
Alzarri Joseph (MI) – 6 wickets
Joseph came as a wildcard entry for Mumbai as on his IPL debut, he got the dangerous wicket of David Warner off the first ball that he bowled. He also bagged the crucial scalp of Vijay Shankar. By the time the innings ended, Joseph picked up 6 wickets in just 3.4 overs and returned with the best figures ever in the IPL as he finished the game with 1/12.
