The two northern rivals, Kings XI Punjab (KXIP) and Delhi Capitals (DC) will be locking horns with each other at the IS Bindra Stadium in Mohali for the 13th match of the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). Both the teams have witnessed similar fortunes this season so far as they started with a win then lost their momentum and won their last games again.

In their respective last games both the franchises registered a win, but Delhi’s win was much of thrilling game as it ended in a super-over. However, Punjab also had a great outing as they defeated Mumbai Indians (MI) by a decent margin. Delhi defeated Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in a humdinger despite being in a commanding position in most of the duration of the game.   

Considering the last games of both the teams, Punjab can be termed as a more balanced side as compares Delhi. There is no doubt regarding the fact that KXIP can again be a team to beat this season as well. On the other hand, Delhi, despite having a good mix of Indian and overseas players who are yet to be tested in this season of IPL, they lack balance in their squad.

Young leg-spinner Murugan Ashwin replaced Varun Chakravarthy in the playing eleven in the last game. He was in good form and got two wickets. First, he picked Suryakumar Yadav’s wicket and then got better of in-form Yuvraj Singh. Ashwin was bowling in a good rhythm and didn’t leak many runs. He finished his bowling spell for 4-0-25-2. He will be playing a crucial role against DC as well.
