Punjab went for Curran in the auctions and got him at a price of ₹7.2 crore, relatively higher for a young foreign all-rounder. Just two matches old in the IPL, he showed his value by turning out a lost match against Delhi in Punjab’s favor and claiming a hat-trick. He finished with 4/11 in just 2.2 overs and the Man of the Match award. Earlier, he also opened the batting and played a quick-fire knock of 20 in just 10 runs.
