Kolkata Knight Riders will host Delhi Capitals in the 26th game of the Indian Premier League 2019. In the previous meeting between these two teams, Delhi held their nerves in the super-over to win the match and take the important two points. Since then, these two teams have exactly opposite journey in the tournament. Kolkata won two out of their next three matches while Delhi won only one in the same number of games. Currently, KKR is sitting on the second place in the points tally and Delhi is only better than Royal Challengers Bangalore and Rajasthan Royals.

KKR is coming from a defeat in their last game against Chennai Super Kings. Kolkata’s batting order got crumbled on a rank turner of Chennai and only Andre Russell showed some resistance to score an unbeaten fifty. The run-chase of 109 was not that easy for Chennai either but they raced to the target riding on Faf du Plessis’ determined vigil.

Kolkata will assist Andre Russell’s fitness before naming the playing XI against Delhi. Russell is having a problem with his shoulder, which prevented him to bowl in last two matches. He if misses, Carlos Braithwaite is a like-to-like replacement. Rest of the ten players is likely to retain their position.

Probable XI: Chris Lynn, Sunil Narine, Robin Uthappa, Nitish Rana, Dinesh Karthik (C/WK), Shubhman Gill, Andre Russell/Carlos Braithwaite, Piyush Chawla, Kuldeep Yadav, Prasidh Krishna, Harry Gurney.

DC managed to win the game against Royal Challengers Bangalore after two consecutive defeats in the league. They played their last game on Sunday and it has been a long layoff for them. Delhi’s bowling department clicked at the right time in Bengaluru and batsmen, especially Shreyas Iyer, pulled their game to chase the target down easily.

Delhi may field the same playing XI if they opt not to after seeing the 22-yard strip of Eden Gardens. The iconic stadium gives a little support to fast-bowlers and Avesh Khan/Trent Bolt can replace Rahul Tewatia/Avesh Khan in the final XI.

Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Colin Ingram, Chris Morris, Axar Patel, Rahul Tewatia, Kagiso Rabada, Ishant Sharma, Trent Bolt.
