Rohit Sharma

Rohit Sharma (MI)

Mumbai Indians’ skipper announced before the commencement of the IPL 2019 that he will be opening the batting throughout the season. But Rohit Sharma didn’t enjoy his first outing at top of the order. With a mountainous target of 214, the team was expecting a fast start from Rohit but he fell cheaply for 14 off Ishant Sharma’s bowling.

Jasprit Bumrah (MI)

World’s best limited-over bowler had a rare off day at the office. Bumrah started the game well and gave just 10 runs in his first two overs. But it was his second spell at the death which proved costly and helped Delhi Capitals to reach 213/6 in 20 overs. In Bumrah’s third over, Rishabh Pant smashed him for 15 runs and went on to conceded 16 in his final over, where Pant and Rahul Tewatia smashed two sixes to do a perfect finishing job for Delhi.

Hardik Pandya (MI)

The all-rounder didn’t enjoy his first outing in the Indian Premier League 2019 and was seen off colour. First, he leaked too many runs with the ball despite taking an important wicket of Shikhar Dhawan. Afterwards, he got dismiss for a silver duck in a situation where his team was in need of some big hits from the flamboyant all-rounder.
