Rajasthan Royals (RR) will host Delhi Capitals in the 40th match of the Indian Premier League 2019. Both teams are coming from a win in their last game that was played in Saturday’s doubleheader. While Rajasthan defeated Mumbai Indians, Delhi got better of Kings XI Punjab to strengthen their position in the points table. This will be the first meeting between the two teams in IPL 2019 and they are sitting on the different branches of the same tree. Delhi’s chances to qualify for the playoffs are quite certain while Rajasthan is required to win all of their remaining games if they want to repeat their last year’s performance.

RR played against Mumbai Indians on Saturday just after sacking Ajinkya Rahane from captain’s role. Rajasthan bowlers restricted Mumbai to 161 in 20 overs before newly appointed skipper Steve Smith played an anchor’s role and led his team to a five-wicket win.

Rajasthan is likely to field with the same playing XI that played against Mumbai. Jos Buttler didn’t play that match after flying back to England for the birth of his baby.

Probable XI: Ajinkya Rahane, Sanju Samson (WK), Steve Smith (C), Ben Stokes, Riyan Parag, Ashton Turner, Stuart Binny, Jofra Archer, Shreyas Gopal, Dhawal Kulkarni, Jaydev Unadkat.

Delhi Capitals (DC)

DC survived a mini heart attack against Kings XI Punjab as they were afraid to not attempt the same mistake that they did earlier against the same opponent. Delhi stopped Punjab to a below-par total and then chased it down riding on Shikhar Dhawan and Shreyas Iyer’s half-centuries.

There are next to no chances of Delhi making any changes in their playing XI. However, if team management decides to, they can bring Rahul Tewatia back in place of Amit Mishra.

Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer (C), Rishabh Pant (WK), Colin Ingram, Axar Patel, Sherfane Rutherford, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra/Rahul Tewatia, Sandeep Lamichhane, Ishant Sharma.
