The Royal Challengers Bangalore played their last game of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2019 against the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at home. After winning the toss, the RCB skipper, Virat Kohli decided to bowl first and they ended up winning the game by 4 wickets and as many balls to spare
During the toss, the SRH skipper, Kane Williamson said that they made just one change in the squad as Abhishek Sharma made way for Yusuf Pathan. On the other hand, RCB made as many as three changes in the squad as Shimron Hetmyer, Washington Sundar, and Colin de Grandhomme came back to replace Marcus Stoinis, Pawan Negi, and Henrich Klaasen.

Despite losing Saha early, SRH ended up scoring 52 runs in the powerplay thanks to the powerful hitting of Martin Guptill. However, things took a drastic change for the visitors in the 8th over bowled by Sundar as he dismissed Guptill with a soft dismissal and the in-form batsman Manish Pandey owing to a brilliant catch by Hetmyer in the same over.
Loss of wickets
After those dismissals, SRH needed a partnership and Williamson started one with Vijay Shankar as they added 45 runs for the 4th wicket before the latter getting out in the 14th over of Sundar. Before getting out he had smashed bowler for a couple of sixes. Soon SRH lost the crucial wickets of Yusuf Pathan, Mohammad Nabi, and Rashid Khan as well.

The visitors were struggling at 147/7 after the 19 over, but then Williamson smashed the final over bowled by Umesh Yadav for 28 runs with the help of 3 fours and a couple of sixes. On the penultimate ball of the over, the umpire called a no-ball which was a wrong call, which helped Williamson to score an extra boundary and take his team to a total of 175/7 in their quota of 20 overs.
Gurkeerat and Hetmyer partnership
During the chase, RCB suffered a huge loss in the first over after the dismissal of Parthiv Patel for a duck. After his dismissal, Kohli and Ab de Villiers also got out soon and the hosts were struggling at 20/3 after the first three over. Then Hetmyer and Gurkeerat Singh started to make a partnership and they added as many as 144 runs for the 4th wicket as they kept on smashing the SRH bowlers on a regular basis.

Gurkeerat and Hetmyer both scored the fifties, but the latter got out in the 18th over of Rashid Khan and in the next 5 balls they lost two more wickets of Sundar and Gurkeerat. RCB needed 6 runs in the final over and Umesh smashed two back-to-back boundaries to win the game by 4 wickets and as many balls to spare.
