Indian opening batsman Shikhar Dhawan has finally left Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) to return his first IPL team Delhi Daredevils (DD). The Hyderabad franchise traded Dhawan to Delhi Daredevils for Vijay Shankar, Shahbaz Nadeem and Abhishek Sharma.
After featuring for Delhi Daredevils in the inaugural IPL season (2008), the left-handed opening batsman Dhawan played for Mumbai Indians in IPL 2009 and 2010. In the fourth season (2011), Dhawan appeared for the defunct IPL franchise Deccan Chargers. Since IPL 2013 to 2018, Dhawan played for SRH and made a huge impact to achieve their consecutive success.
Playing for Delhi Daredevils in the opening season, Dhawan scored 340 runs with the average of 37.77, including four half-centuries.
In SRH, Dhawan is the most runs scorer as he scored 2,768 runs (average 35.03) in 91 matches, including 21 half-centuries with the best knock of 92* (against Delhi Daredevils at Delhi on May 10, 2018). Dhawan also led the franchise in 16 matches.
While SRH won their only IPL trophy in 2016, Dhawan was the fifth leading run-scorer in that tournament and also was the second leading run-scorer for the team on that tournament as he scored 501 runs in 17 games (average 38.53), including four half-centuries.
