The Hindi commentary panel has been doing a phenomenal job in the ongoing season of the Indian Premier League (IPL). They are entertaining the fans with their catchy phrases and interesting anecdotes. It is quite evident from the viewership as well as the response on social media. However, one prominent name is missing from this panel, that of former Pakistan pacer Shoaib Akhtar who isn’t a part of the commentary roster.

Akhtar was an integral part of this commentary panel. He had even developed a fan base of his own with his critique. He analyses the game really well and puts forth his honest perspective which is usually interesting. However, both the cricketer and his fans are disappointed that he isn’t a part of the comm box anymore.

Recently, the tension between India and Pakistan has reached another level after the Pulwama attacks. About 44 CRPF soldiers lost their lives and this was followed by air strikes and cross firings across the border. Even though the situations have eased up now, Shoaib hasn’t arrived in India. Cricketer turned commentator Aakash Chopra put up a photo of the Hindi show commentary schedules for the game between Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK).

The team included the likes of Atul Wasan, Irfan Pathan, Gautam Gambhir, Manvinder Bisla, Jatin Sapru. “Hindi Commentary Roster #SRHvCSK #ipl,” wrote Aakash Chopra wrote in his tweet.

Replying to the same, Akhtar wrote, “My name is missing in that roster.” The legendary bowler also added the pensive face emoji at the end of his tweet.

On Wednesday, the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) were missing the services of MS Dhoni in that match as he injured his back in the game against the Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR). Even though he was playing football before the match, the 37-year-old chose to sit out as a preventive measure. Suresh Raina was tasked to lead the side in his absence.
