Delhi Capitals is the only team, among the original eight franchises, who has never played a single final of the Indian Premier League. DC tried everything from changing the whole squad to changing the logo of the team; they pulled every possible aspect to turn their fortunes. And now, in the quest to their maiden IPL title, Delhi renamed their franchise and become Delhi Capitals from Delhi Daredevils. But, will that be enough to lift the silverware?

Delhi went on to make a balanced squad in the IPL 2018 auction. They had good T20 batsmen, a top all-rounder in form of Chris Morris, two-time IPL winning captain Gautam Gambhir, veteran leg-spinner Amit Mishra. But something just didn’t click for Delhi. They were missing the X factor, who could provide them the winning touch.

Prithvi Shaw

This left-handed batmans is one of the most talented young batsmen in India at the moment. He was roped in by Delhi last year and gave him sufficient chances in IPL 2018. Shaw amassed 245 runs in nine games at a high strike rate of 153. He was in decent touch during the recently concluded Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy.

He will share the burden of opening the batting along with Shikhar Dhawan, whom Delhi received through transfer window from Sunrisers Hyderabad. If Shaw manages to compliment Dhawan from the other end and provide Delhi a solid start at the top, he will definitely become the required X factor of Delhi Capitals.
