Shreyas Iyer and KL Rahul are the two mainstays of the Indian team set up right now. Having played some excellent cricket last year, both the stars have deservingly got the opportunity to represent India, and they have made the most of it. These two friends will turn into foes come March 29 as they will be heading to Delhi and Punjab to captain their IPL side.
KL Rahul has become a regular for the Indian team and also got a chance to captain the national team of India in a recently concluded 5th T30 match against New Zealand. KL joined the Kings 11 Punjab back in 2018 for a record fee. The Preeti Zinta owned team spent 11 crores ( third joint-highest price) for the Karnataka lad.

With Ravichandran Ashwin traded to Delhi Capitals, KL Rahul will be shouldering the captaincy responsibilities of the Kings 11 Punjab for the first time. KL Rahul has a team filled with veterans and domestic performers who can win him matches. As the captain for the upcoming 2020 season, team selection will be a happy headache to have for the Kartanaka lad.
Shreyas Iyer, the young Mumbai lad, has established himself as a first-team regular in the Indian jersey. He has cemented his place in team India’s middle order with solid performances throughout various tournaments. Iyer will be looking to establish his authority and run the Delhi team his way with fierce aggression and a winning attitude.

Shreyas has to find the right balance of mixing his squad up and keeping all the senior players in his team happy, irrespective of the matches they played during the season. It will comparatively easy for the Mumbai star with coach world cup winner Ricky Ponting in the DC dugout.
Both the players will be hoping to pluck up a few pages from their National captain Virat Kohli and vice-captain Rohit Sharma. Delhi Capitals host the Kings in the second match of the IPL 2020 on March 30. They will travel to Dharamsala for the return leg on May 16 in what will be the second last match of the league stage.
