Faf du Plessis has been the solo performer for CSK so far. It was between him and Steve Smith to grab this spot in the XI. However, Du Plessis, who enjoyed a break, has been quite consistent and played a much impactful match-winning knock against MI. Thus, he finds an edge over Smith.

Sanju Samson (RR) – 159 runs

Sanju Samson has become the x-factor for RR in the first week of IPL 2020. He was always regarded to be talented but never managed to create as big an impact as he did in the fifth week of this season. In the game against CSK, he took the game away from the visitors along with the help of Steve Smith. Batting at three against CSK, he mustered an aggressive 74 from 32 balls in that game. He finished the week with 159 runs in 2 games as scored another fifty in the game against KXIP.

Rishabh Pant (DC) (wk) – 70 runs

Rishabh Pant had a decent first week with the bat as his team is yet to suffer a loss in the tournament so far. He played a crucial role during the match against CSK as he e scored an unbeaten 37* in just 25 balls against CSK. He showed the intent to go big in the game against KXIP as well.
