Mumbai Indians (MI) have managed to reach the top of the Indian Premier League (IPL) points table with a thrashing 57-run win over Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2oth match of the season. For MI, Surya Kumar Yadav played a flamboyant knock of 47-ball 79* combined with the decimation of Jasprit Bumrah as he took 4 wickets while conceding just 20 runs.
MI openers, Rohit, and Quinton de Kock started off well as they added 49 runs inside the first five over before Tyagi getting the better of the latter in his first over itself. Then, along with Surya Kumar Yadav, Rohit added 39 runs for the second wicket before Shreyas Gopal getting two wickets in as many deliveries in the 10th overs as he dismissed Rohit and Ishan Kishan on back-to-back deliveries.

After the little hiccup, Yadav tried to make a partnership with Krunal Pandya, but the latter also got out in the 14th over. After Krunal’s dismissal, Hardik came out to bat, and along with Surya Kumar, he built a solid partnership of 76 runs for the 4th wicket to help his team to reach the score of 193/4 in their tally of 20 overs. For RR, Gopal took two wickets and conceded just 28 runs.
During the chase, RR never looked in his game as they lost as many as three wickets of Jaiswal, Steve Smith, and Sanju Samson in the powerplay itself courtesy of the brilliant bowling spells from Bumrah and Trent Boult. However, Jos Buttler kept the hopes for the Royals as one one end wicket kept on felling and he milked runs from the other end.

Along with Tom Curran, Buttler added 56 runs for the 5th wicket but the latter was eventually perished in the 14th over of James Pattinson owing to the outstanding catch by Kieron Pollard. that was the last nail in the coffin for RR against MI as the Royals were bundled out for 136 in the final over and lost the game by 57 runs.

After failing to score consistent runs basis in the first five matches of the IPL 2020, Surya Kumar Yadav was desperate to score and he roared when it mattered the most. Yadav amassed as many as 79 runs in just 47 deliveries with the help of eleven fours and a couple of sixes.

In IPL 2020, a big inning from Jos Buttler was long-awaited and he delivered when no one did but still, it went in vain. kept the hopes for the Royals as one one end wicket kept on felling and he milked runs from the other end. He amassed as many as 70 runs in just 44 deliveries with the help of 4 fours and 5 sixes.
