In the 41st match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2020, Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be locking horns with their arch-rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium on Friday. Currently, MI is standing at the third position at the points table only behind DC and RCB on the top two, on the other hand, while MS Dhoni and his men are at the bottom of the points tally.

But unlike MI, they are currently at the eighth position in the points table, having a win-loss ratio of 3-7.

After what Dhoni said about giving opportunities, CSK will be likely to include Narayan Jagadeesan and Ruturaj Gaikwad into the playing XI, and without any real pressure, per the CSK captain. If it really is all about giving chances, this could be the fixture where the fans will get the first glimpse of last season’s leading wicket-taker – Imran Tahir.

Probable XI: Sam Curran, Faf du Plessis, Shane Watson/Ruturaj Gaikwad, Ambati Rayudu, Kedar Jadhav/N Jagadeesan, MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Piyush Chawla/Imran Tahir, Josh Hazlewood

Bringing in Nathan Coulter-Nile for James Pattinson two games ago – to manage workload – was only the second chance MI had done to their playing XI all season. After a well-deserved 11-day break for Pattinson and he will be expected to replace Coulter-Nile as the latter had pretty ordinary figures.

Probable XI: Rohit Sharma, Quinton de Kock, Suryakumar Yadav, Ishan Kishan, Kieron Pollard, Hardik Pandya, Krunal Pandya, Nathan Coulter-Nile/James Pattinson, Rahul Chahar, Trent Boult, Jasprit Bumrah
