Sunrisers Hyderabad’s stars are looking in the dire straits in the ongoing Indian Premier League. The team just recovered from three successive defeats by winning one against Punjab Kings. Now, they have received another jolt in form of T Natarajan, who has been ruled out of the IPL 2021 with a knee injury. The left-arm pacer was the mainstay of SRH bowling in death overs but now the team has to play without his services.

Natarajan didn’t play the last two games as he was rested, as mentioned by Tom Moody. He was replaced by Khaleel Ahmed, who fared well in those two games.

Natarajan’s knee injury has been aggravated if the close sources are to be believed. He is, now, likely to report back to National Cricket Academy (NCA) in Bengaluru.

The sources revealed to Cricbuzz “We have not got the full report but we have been told that he has developed a strain in the knee. He will have to undergo rehab in the NCA.”

The NCA physios are having a close look at his injury and have already reported to BCCI that his injury has been aggravated and has to be pulled out of the tournament.

The 30-year-old had amazing few months. He was bowling well in the IPL 2020 that took place in UAE, owing to the coronavirus situation in the country. That performance earned him his maiden call-up by the national selectors for the tour of Australia, where he made his international debut in the last One-Day International game.

The T20I series that followed saw him making his T20I debut as well, where he was instrumental in India’s series win. He was kept as a net bowler for the Test matches but a series of injuries to the Indian bowlers allowed him to be drafted into the Test squad. Eventually, he ended up making his Test debut as well in the Gabba Test, which India won to clinch a memorable series win Down Under.
