The 19th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be locking horns with the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Sunday. RCB has been dominating the teams in the season so far as they are leading the charts on the IPL 2021 points table. Riding on the exploits of Glenn Maxwell and AB de Villiers, the RCB had phenomenal outings in Chenna, although it was all about Devdutt Padikkal in their last win over the Rajasthan Royals.
Adding Virat Kohli and Harshal Patel’s form will only sweeten the deal for the Bangalore-based franchise. However, they will be facing CSK, who have been playing some exceptional cricket in the last couple of games as losing their first match against Delhi Capitals (DC). While there are some concerns on the bowling front, CSK is looking like a balanced squad as their batting unit has been using the conditions at Wankhede.

With Faf du Plessis also scoring an impressive fifty in CSK’s previous game against Kolkata Knight Riders, the three-time IPL champions will be looking to extend their winning streak to four games. Although both teams are looking good on paper, one might hand the advantage to RCB, given the plethora of stars in their batting line-up. However, the Chennai-based franchise boasts perhaps the most well-balanced side in IPL 2021, which should make for an entertaining clash on Sunday.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
There are no reported injuries at the moment and Jason Behrendorff will be available for selection from CSK’s next fixture – against SRH. Where Dhoni uses Ravindra Jadeja with the ball could have a bearing on how the game goes as the all-rounder has a fine record against Kohli, dismissing him thrice. Jadeja has also got the better of Glenn Maxwell on four occasions, and conceded just 35 runs in the 30 deliveries bowled to him.
Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni, Sam Curran, Ravindra Jadeja, Deepak Chahar, Shardul Thakur, Lungi Ngidi
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
RCB has no injury concern and Daniel Sams has also joined the squad after recovering from COVID-19. With two wickets in four games, Yuzvendra Chahal is yet to get his form back. This fixture would be perfect for him to regain his form as CSK has been batting brilliantly in the middle-overs. Chahal has picked 12 wickets in 11 outings against CSK, and sent Suresh Raina packing four times.
Probable XI: Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli, Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Washington Sundar, Kyle Jamieson, Daniel Sams/Kane Richardson, Harshal Patel, Mohammed Siraj, Yuzvendra Chahal
