The 22nd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played between Delhi Capitals (DC) and Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Tuesday. Both DC and RCB have similar points in eth season so far with four wins each in five games. However, DC has been playing exceptionally well, given the personnel concerns they have had to cope with. However, Rishabh Pant has been leading the team well as they have won three consecutive games after their loss against RR.

With the openers, Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw firing on all cylinders, Delhi Capitals are well-equipped to take on the Ahmedabad challenge. However, Ravi Ashwin’s absence will play a huge role. Their opponents, RCB have also been like a surprise package of IPL 2021 so far. Despite fielding an inexperienced bowling attack, the RCB has pulled off five wins. They will look to return to winning ways with a good performance after a loss against CSK.

The onus will be on captain Virat Kohli and deputy AB de Villiers to fire the RCB to a win, with the likes of Harshal Patel and Mohammed Siraj having a decent run in the IPL 2021. Both teams look well-matched on paper, but DC will hold the advantage heading into the game, given their squad balance and the momentum they currently carry. Either way, both teams will be eyeing the top spot on the points table with a win on Tuesday, at least until Chennai Super Kings’ next game.

The absence of R Ashwin will be a huge blow for DC, and they will not be expected to include Lalit Yadav to fill the void. Amit Mishra has dismissed Glenn Maxwell four times but also has an economy rate of 11.38 against him, and is bound to be an interesting matchup when they will be facing each other.

Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Prithvi Shaw, Steven Smith, Rishabh Pant Shimron Hetmyer, Marcus Stoinis, Lalit Yadav, Axar Patel, Kagiso Rabada, Amit Mishra, Avesh Khan

The absence of Adam Zampa and Kane Richardson should not worry RCB a lot, now they are lacing his replacements now. Yuzvendra Chahal has a good head-to-head record against Shikhar Dhawan and he could be an option to throw off Delhi’s successful opening pair. Possible changes include the addition of a batsman at the cost of a pacer and a first outing for Daniel Sams.

Probable XI: Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli, Shahbaz Ahmed/Rajat Patidar, Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Washington Sundar, Dan Christian/Daniel Sams, Kyle Jamieson, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal, Mohammad Siraj
