In the 23rd Match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be locking horns with Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi on Wednesday. CSK ended Royal Challengers Bangalore’s (RCB) unbeaten run with a supreme all-around performance, led by all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja.

On the other hand, SRH came close to winning against Delhi Capitals (DC). However, at the end of the day, they went down in another match, and the game witnessed a Super Over finish. As CSK and SRH face each other, Let’s take a look at three-player battles to watch out for.

#3 Faf Du Plessis vs Khaleel Ahmed

Khaleel Ahmed

CSK’s experienced opener Faf du Plessis has been an excellent form for the team. He has been piercing the gaps brilliantly in the field and has more often than not found the boundaries. The South African batsman should be high on confidence facing up to SRH’s bowling attack.

The left-arm pacer Khaleel Ahmed has suddenly become hugely significant with Bhuvneshwar and Natarajan’s injuries. After finishing with impressive figures of 3 for 21 in the win over Punjab Kings (PBKS), Khaleel conceded a lot of runs against DC. He will have to raise his game against CSK. It will be tough against du Plessis at the top though, who has displayed supreme form so far.

#2 Jonny Bairstow vs Deepak Chahar

Jonny Bairstow has been doing well in IPL 2021 as he played impressive knocks of 55, 43, 63 not out, and 38. Most times he has come out to bat, Bairstow has looked in fine touch. If anything, they would want bigger scores from him. Pacer Deepak Chahar has been exceptional for CSK as every time the wicket has had something in it for Chahar, the bowler has been destructive. He is very accurate with his line and lengths. Bairstow is someone who can get frustrated while facing a bowler like Chahar.

#1 Kane Williamson vs Ravindra Jadeja

SRH batsman Kane Williamson played a brilliant knock in the last game against DC. His knock did not deserve to end in a loss, but sadly did. Looking at the innings on a standalone basis though, it was an excellent performance that would give both the batsman and the team confidence.

Williamson vs Ravindra Jadeja could be the battle to watch out for. Williamson is one of the greatest players of spin on earth, but Jadeja troubled the likes of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell in the last game.  The Kiwi captain can definitely challenge Jadeja’s supremacy if the two players come face-to-face in the match.
