While Faf du Plessis and Ruturaj Gaikwad have led the charge at the top of the order, Ravindra Jadeja providing the goods in the death overs. Although MS Dhoni’s form with the bat is a concern, their batting unit is performing pretty well. However, the onus will be on Deepak Chahar to take some early wickets in the powerplay overs as Chennai seeks to extend their winning streak in the IPL 2021. However, a team like MI can never be taken lightly.

Nevertheless, a mouthwatering game can be expected by the fans between arguably the two best franchises in IPL history. As MI and CSK face-off on Saturday, Here are 3 player battles to watch out for.

#3 Faf Du Plessis vs Trent Boult

CSK’s experienced opener Faf du Plessis has been an excellent form for the team. He has been piercing the gaps brilliantly in the field and has more often than not found the boundaries. The South African batsman should be high on confidence facing up to MI’s bowling attack.

MI left-arm pacer, Trent Boult has been excellent for the franchise so far as he has developed a knack for taking wickets at crucial junctures. Apart from that, he has been keeping the runs down as well. Faf will look to take on Boult in what could be an interesting tussle between the two.

#2 Quinton de Kock vs Deepak Chahar

Quinton de Kock has been doing well in IPL 2021 as he played an impressive knock of 70*. Most times he has come out to bat, De Kock has looked in fine touch. If anything, they would want bigger scores from him. Pacer Deepak Chahar has been exceptional for CSK as every time the wicket has had something in it for Chahar, the bowler has been destructive. He is very accurate with his line and lengths. De kock is someone who can get frustrated while facing a bowler like Chahar.

#1 Suryakumar Yadav vs Ravindra Jadeja

Suryakumar Yadav has looked in fine form almost his very games, but he has failed to convert the starts. With the tournament now moving towards the business end of the season, it will be important for Yadav to rediscover his real self, and a change of venue can do the job.

Yadav vs Ravindra Jadeja could be the battle to watch out for. Suryakumar is one of the best players of spin on earth, but Jadeja troubled the likes of AB de Villiers and Glenn Maxwell in the last game. Yadav can definitely challenge Jadeja’s supremacy if the two players come face-to-face in the match.
