The 47th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) will be played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the evening game on 2nd October at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium in Abu Dhabi. CSK has been enjoying a brilliant run in the season with 9 wins in 11 matches, they are standing at the top of the points table. On the other hand, RR has had a hot and cold season so far and has managed to grab 4 wins in their 11 matches, they are placed second last on the table.
In their last game against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Dubai, RR suffered a 7-wicket loss. RR batted first and managed 149 runs on the board, which RCB managed to chase down in the 18th over itself. On the other hand, CSK had registered a win by 6 wickets against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Sharjah. SRH amassed just 134 runs in the first innings for the loss of 9 wickets. CSK chased this down in the final over of the game.

The two teams have locked horns with each other in 25 in the IPL history, where Chennai Super Kings won 15 matches while Rajasthan Royals managed to win 10 games. The last time they played against each other in this season, CSK registered a comfortable 45-runs win over RR.
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Chris Morris will be expected to be replaced as Kumar Sangakkara’s acknowledged that the all-rounder hasn’t done as well as he would’ve liked. With RR will be in a do-or-die situation in every game, they may opt to bring in the pace of Oshane Thomas to strengthen their bowling line-up. However, Morris has a good record against CSK, picking 11 wickets in 6 games at 15.73 and an economy rate of 7.31. Liam Livingstone’s paltry returns may see David Miller or Glenn Philips can be given a go and RR may replace Parag with Shivam Dube to add to the batting depth given his string of single-digit scores.
Probable XI: Evin Lewis, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Liam Livingstone/David Miller, Mahipal Lomror, Riyan Parag/Shivam Dube/Shreyas Gopal, Rahul Tewatia, Chris Morris/Oshane Thomas, Chetan Sakariya, Kartik Tyagi, Mustafizur Rahman
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
Sanju Samson has struggled against CSK, scoring just 154 runs in 10 innings and he has scored 39 runs in 28 balls against Deepak Chahar. Both DJ Bravo and Ravindra Jadeja have done supremely well against RR, with 34 wickets between them even Bravo has scored 215 runs in 12 innings against the Royals. In order to manage workload, Hazlewood may be rested for Sam Curran. Moeen Ali may also be brought in the Powerplay for Evin Lewis, who has failed to score quickly against off-spinners in the last couple of years.
Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Faf du Plessis, Moeen Ali, Suresh Raina, Ambati Rayudu, MS Dhoni (c & wk), Ravindra Jadeja, Dwayne Bravo, Shardul Thakur, Deepak Chahar, Josh Hazlewood/Sam Curran.
