The 50th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium on October 4. CSK and DCboth have already qualified for the playoffs for this season as they have already won 9 out of their 12 games so far. While CSK is standing at the top of the table, DC is just behind them in second place. 

In their last game against Rajasthan Royals (PBKS) in Dubai, CSK suffered a 7-wicket loss. n the very last over. Batting first, CSK stacked managed to registered a huge score of 189 runs with Ruturaj Gaekwad scoring a century, but RR chase in down in the 18th over itself. On the other hand, DC had managed to win a close win against Mumbai Indians (MI) in Sharjah. Batting first, MI only managed to reach a total of 129 runs, however, DC chased down this total in the final over itself.

These two teams have met 24 times so far in IPL history, where CSK won 15 matches while DC has won 9 games. The last time these two teams met, in India, DC won the game by 7 wickets. As both teams have already qualified for the playoffs, the game is practically a dead-rubbers, but still, DC will eyeing a win to get ahead of the top team. 

Delhi Capitals (DC)

Marcus Stoinis will be expected to warm the benches as he is yet to recover. Having qualified, DC might consider testing the bench strength to keep the other match ready. That could bring the likes of Amit Mishra and Umesh Yadav into contention. A bid to stop CSK’s prolific opening combination could be through the way of spin. In R Ashwin and Axar Patel, they have the right kind of personnel to try it out.

The extra pace of Anrich Nortje and Kagiso Rabada could be one of the threats for the CSK’s middle-order batsmen given their unfavorable match-up against such bowling.
