The last match of the league match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on 8th October at the Dubai International Cricket Stadium. In the tournament so far, RCB has won 8 of their 13 matches and they are currently placed at third place on the points table. On the other hand, DC has pulled off 10 wins in their 13 matches in IPL 2021 and is standing on the top of the points table.
In their last game against Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in Abu Dhabi, RCB suffered a loss by 4 runs. Against SRH’s 141 runs, RCB only managed to reach the tally of 136 runs and lost the game by a narrow margin of 4 runs. On the other hand, DC locked horns with Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in Dubai in their last game, where they won the match by 3 wickets. While batting first, CSK managed to score 136 runs, which DC managed to chase down in the last over.
The two teams have played 26 matches against each other in the history of IPL, where Royal Challengers Bangalore won 16 matches while Delhi Capitals managed to win 10 matches. The last time DC and RCB locked horns with played against each other this season, Royal Challengers Bangalore beat Delhi Capitals by 1 run.
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Fortunately, RCB has not witnessed an injury concern in the tournament so far, however, they would like to replace George Garton with Kyle Jamieson, as the left-arm paceman has been conceding a lot of runs. Virat Kohli and Glenn Maxwell have fine records against Ashwin in the IPL. Maxwell in particular has played with freedom against Ashwin and has aggregated 91 runs in just 41 balls and has been dismissed only once.
Probable XI: Virat Kohli (c), Devdutt Padikkal, Srikar Bharat (wk), Glenn Maxwell, AB de Villiers, Daniel Christian, Shahbaz Ahmed, Kyle Jamieson/George Garton, Harshal Patel, Yuzvendra Chahal and Mohammed Siraj.
Delhi Capitals (DC)
DC will be expected to go ahead with the same XI that usurped CSK as they continue to keep tabs on Stoinis’ fitness. Prithvi Shaw and Shikhar Dhawan have found it difficult to adjust to the slow nature of the pitches in the UAE, which led to Shimron Hetmyer becoming DC’s go-to finisher in this year’s IPL. The one game where he couldn’t take his side past the finish line was against RCB in the first leg of the tournament. However, he played a brilliant knock of 25-ball 53 in that match.
Probable XI: Prithvi Shaw, Shikhar Dhawan, Shreyas Iyer, Rishabh Pant (c,wk), Sam Billings/Ripal Patel, Shimron Hetmyer, Axar Patel, R Ashwin, Kagiso Rabada, Avesh Khan and Anrich Nortje.
Fantasy XI Suggestion 1:
KS Bharat, Devdutt Padikkal, Virat Kohli, Prithvi Shaw, Shreyas Iyer, Glenn Maxwell (C), Axar Patel, Harshal Patel (VC), Avesh Khan, Anrich Nortje, George Garton
Fantasy XI Suggestion 2:
KS Bharat, Rishabh Pant, Virat Kohli (C), Prithvi Shaw, AB de Villiers, Glenn Maxwell, Daniel Christian, Harshal Patel, Avesh Khan, Anrich Nortje, Kagiso Rabada (VC)
