The 7th match of the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) 2021 will be played between Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai on Thursday. DC started their campaign with a dominating win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK), courtesy of a whirlwind opening partnership between Shikhar Dhawan and Prithvi Shaw. Although they missed some of teh crucial cogs in the squad, they managed to churn out a brilliant win.
However, the return of Kagiso Rabada should add some much-needed firepower to their bowling attack, holding them in good stead. The presence of captain Rishabh Pant in the middle-order will play a crucial role for DC against RR. On the other hand, the Royals haven’t had the best of starts to IPL 2021 as he suffered a huge injury blow as Ben Stokes has been ruled out of the tournament and Jofra Archer is already on the sidelines. However, Rajasthan has a decent squad, with both Liam Livingstone and David Miller vying for a place in the side.

Although the Rajasthan Royals have a packed batting unit, DC will be entering game as hot favorites, owing to their superior balance and depth. The return of Rabada adds another dimension to their bowling attack, one which might be too hot for the Royals. However, IPL 2021 has shown us that no team can be taken lightly. With two valuable points up for grabs, we should be in for a cracking IPL 2021 fixture on Thursday.
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Ben Stokes is obviously out of the tournament and despite Jofra Archer getting clearance to resume “light training” post surgery, there’s no clarity on his IPL participation yet. However, David Miller and Andrew Tye will now be available for selection. Royals will have a new opening pair after being forced to make a change for Stokes. Miller could be slotted into the middle order, while Jos Buttler could be promoted to the opening spot.
Probable XI: Jos Buttler, Manan Vohra, Sanju Samson (c, wk), David Miller, Riyan Parag, Rahul Tewatia, Shivam Dube, Shreyas Gopal, Chris Morris, Mustafizur Rahman, Chetan Sakariya
Delhi Capitals (DC)
IAnrich Nortje is in quarantine after a COVID scare and even, Kagiso Rabada is also understood to be in quarantine so will remain unavailable for selection. Ishant Sharma will also be expected to miss the game with a niggle. R Ashwin and Amit Mishra will be key to DC’s fortunes, having shared 46 wickets between themselves against RR and having not conceded over seven-an-over.
