Punjab Kings have several big hitters in their batting arsenal. Nicholas Pooran is one of them and is, undoubtedly, have immense talent as a batsman. However, Pooran is off to a horror start in the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League 2021. His latest failure came against Royal Challengers Bangalore as he registered the fourth duck of the season in just six innings.

Punjab Kings and Royal Challengers Bangalore are locking horns against each other in the 26th match of the IPL 2021. Virat Kohli won the toss and opted to bowl first. His decision looked to be backfiring at one point when KL Rahul and Chris Gayle were firing from both ends. Gayle particularly looked in the mood to send RCB bowlers for the leather hunt in the ground.

Daniel Sams dismissed Gayle to calm some nerves in the RCB dugout. Out came Nicholas Pooran at number four. The stage was set for him to give his team a big finish. But he couldn’t cope with Kyle Jamieson’s extra bounce and top-edged to Shahbaz Ahmed for nought. This was his fourth duck of the season.

Pooran started the season with consecutive ducks against Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings. He registered a diamond duck against Sunrisers Hyderabad, which was his third of the season. Now, with his fourth score of nought, Pooran has equalled the IPL record of the most ducks in a single season. Herschelle Gibbs, Mithun Manhas, Manish Pandey and Shikhar Dhawan have previously scored four scores of ducks in a single season.

Pooran will be eager to avoid rewriting such kind of a record. Although, going by his current form he can go one step ahead of the others.
