Rajasthan Royals skipper Sanju Samson was seen doing something which is quite rare on the cricketing field. During the toss of the 12th game of the Indian Premier League 2021, involving Rajasthan Royals and Chennai Super Kings, Samson picked the tossed coin into his pocket. Notably, he did this in the previous game as well against Punjab Kings.

MS Dhoni flicked the coin which landed in Samson’s favor, who took no time in opting to chase. Interestingly, Samson bent down to pick the coin off the floor to keep. He did the same thing during the match against Punjab Kings.

However, this thing didn’t go down well to the match referee who asked Samson to return the coin. He revealed it in the post-match presentation that the match referee told him that he is not permitted to keep possession of the coin.

“The coin looked really nice so I pocketed it. I asked the match-referee if I can have it, but he said no, it is now allowed,” Samson mentioned in the post-match presentation.

Kerala batsman is leading Rajasthan Royals in the latest edition of the IPL. He started his campaign with a bang as he almost pulled an unthinkable against PKBS in their opening game. Samson’s heroic effort fell four runs short but his team made amends in their next game against Delhi Capitals as they crawl themselves over the line to register their first win in the IPL 2021.
