IPL 2022: Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder To Miss A Few Games For LSG

The 15th season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) is scheduled to be commencing tomorrow (March 26). The league will feature a couple of new teams – Lucknow Super Giants and Gujarat Titans. Both teams will play their first match on March 28. Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be led by KL Rahul, while the head coach of the team is Andy Flower. The former Indian cricketer Gautam Gambhir will be playing the role of a mentor of the side.

The Lucknow-based franchise picked KL Rahul, Marcus Stoinis, and Ravi Bishnoi as their three draft picks. LSG managed to bag some big cricketers in the recently concluded auction – Jason Holder, Manish Pandey, De Kock, Krunal Pandya, and many more.

What comes as worrying news for the franchise is that their three marquee players – Marcus Stoinis, Jason Holder, and Kyle Mayers are set to miss the first few matches for the team in the IPL 2022 due to national duties.

Marcus Stoinis – The Australian all-rounder will be playing for the country in the limited-overs series against Pakistan. The series is scheduled to end with a one-off T20I on April 5. He will leave Pakistan after the end of the series and will be available only after completing the quarantine.

Jason Holder & Kyle Mayers – The West-indies all-rounder and the southpaw batter will be featuring in the ongoing three-match home test series against England. The series will officially finish on March 29. The Windies players will immediately arrive in India and go under quarantine.
