Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be locking horns with Punjab Kings (PBKS) for the first time in the 11th match of this season of the Indian Premier Leagues (IPL) at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai. Currently, CSK is placed at the bottom half of the points table of this season of the IPL 2022 whereas PBKS is currently placed just a place above CSK.
Chennai Super Kings played a couple of matches in this season of the IPL where they were unable to win even a single game so far while Punjab Kings also played two matches in this season and they had won their season opener. Chennai Super Kings played their last game against Lucknow Super Giants where Lucknow Super Giants beat them by 6 wickets. Robin Uthappa and Shivam Dube smashed 50 runs and 49 runs respectively for Chennai Super Kings in that game.
On the other hand, Punjab Kings played their last game against KKR and they suffered a loss by 6 wickets. Bhanuka Rajapaksa managed to score 35 runs in that game. These two teams played 26 games against each other in the history of the IPL where Chennai Super Kings won 16 matches while Punjab Kings managed to win 10 games.
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
The Super Kings underwent three changes in the last game and still searching for their perfect combination. If Adam Milne has recovered from his side strain, he will surely start in the eleven replacing Mukesh Choudhary. Maheesh Theekshana is another option in the bowling department for CSK.
He could be brought in for Mukesh Choudhary if Adam Milne doesn’t recover in time from his injury. Despite a poor showing with the ball in the 19th over against Lucknow Super Giants, Shivam Dube is expected to retain his spot in the eleven.
Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Moeen Ali, Robin Uthappa, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, MS Dhoni, Dwaine Pretorius, Shivam Dube, Dwayne Bravo, Adam Milne/Maheesh Theekshana, Tushar Deshpande
Punjab Kings (PBKS)
Jonny Bairstow has arrived for the Kings and he is available for selection in this game and he will be giving a headache to teh team management. Bhanuka Rajapksa, who was an obvious choice to get replaced by Bairstow, has done an amazing job with the bat in the last two games and should retain his place. Punjab spent huge bucks in the auction to acquire the services of Liam Livingstone. Therefore, sidelining him after two games won’t be a great idea.
Therefore, Odean Smith seems to be the only guy who could make way for Jonny. Smith has been ineffective with the ball, therefore he could make way for Jonny. If Odean Smith is replaced, Raj Angad Bawa might also get dropped for one seamer. Sandeep Sharma or Rishi Dhawan could forge their way into the eleven to maintain the balance of the side.
Probable XI: Shikhar Dhawan, Mayank Agarwal, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livingstone, Shahrukh Khan, Harpreet Brar, Kagiso Rabada, Arshdeep Singh, Sandeep Sharma/Rishi Dhawan, Rahul Chahar
