Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) will be locking horns with Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the 12th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Dr. DY Patil Stadium, Navi Mumbai. SRH is currently placed at the bottom of the points table of this season of the IPL whereas LSG is standing at the fifth spot on the points table. SRH has played one game this season where they failed to win that game.
On the other hand, LSG played a couple of games this season where they managed to win one game. In their opening game against Rajasthan Royals (RR), SRH suffered a loss of 61 runs. Aiden Markram and Washington Sundar smashed 57 runs and 40 runs respectively for Sunrisers Hyderabad in that game.

On the other hand, LSG played their last game against Chennai Super Kings where they won the game by 6 wickets. Quinton de Kock and Evin Lewis scored 61 runs and 55 runs respectively for Lucknow Super Giants in that game. Both the teams have a good number of exciting players and this promises to be a terrific contest between these two sides. Ahead of the key clash at the DY Patil stadium, we take a look at the three key player battles to watch out for.
#3 Jos Buttler vs T. Natarajan
SRH kept their faith in Tamil Nadu pacer, T. Natarajan. They bagged him again during the IPL 2022 Auction despite his prolonged absence last season after an injury. LSG skipper, KL Rahul is one of the most destructive batters in the shortest format of the game and he is expected to be instrumental in contributing with the bat for Lucknow. His bat speed and swing against Natarajan’s searing and accurate yorkers will be a mouth-watering contest.
#2 Ravi Bishnoi vs Aiden Markram
Aiden Markram was one of the most impressive additions to Punjab in IPL 2021 and will now don the Orange for Hyderabad in IPL 2022. He will be up against a wily customer in Ravi Bishnoi, who will now be plying his trade for Lucknow. Bishnoi finished with 12 wickets last season for Punjab Kings and will be eager to get back into his groove by weaving a web around the Sunrisers.
#1 Kane Williamson vs Avesh Khan
Kane Williamson and Avesh Khan will be having strong competition. Avesh scalped 24 wickets in IPL 2021, but Delhi Capitals (DC) released him. The seamer will be keen to prove a point and only time will tell if he can have a similar run. Williamson wasn’t much productive in the IPL last season, amassing 266 runs, and much of the side’s opening hinges on the SRH batter’s ability to bat deep.
