Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Gujarat Titans (GT) will be locking horns with each in the 16th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 on Friday. They both have had a decent run in the tournament so far and would be looking to continue the same. PBKS have won 2 out of 3 matches and find themselves in the 4th position on the points table. The only loss has come against Kolkata Knight Riders. PBKS registered a win over the defending champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the previous match by 54 runs.
Gujarat Titans, under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya, have emerged as the only team to remain unbeaten in the ongoing edition of the IPL. They started their campaign by defeating Lucknow Super Giants by 5 wickets and followed it with a win over Delhi Capitals by 14 runs.

In the game against CSK, Liam Livingstone smashed 60 runs and took 2 wickets for PBKS. On the other hand, Gujarat Titans played their last game against Delhi Capitals where they won the game by 14 runs. Shubman Gill knocked 84 runs while Lockie Ferguson picked up 4 wickets for Gujarat Titans in that game.
Punjab Kings (PBKS)
Nathan Ellis has joined the team’s bio bubble and is expected to be available for selection. Jonny Bairstow is all set to feature in the playing XI for this match. In all likelihood, he will be replacing Odean Smith as Bhanuka Rajapaksa has been way too good while batting at no 3. Jonny Bairstow will most probably bat at no 4. One between Jittesh Sharma or Shahrukh Khan might have to make way for a seamer like Sandeep Sharma to balance the bowling unit after Bairstow’s inclusion.
Probable XI: Mayank Agarwal, Shikhar Dhawan, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Jonny Bairstow, Liam Livinsgtone, Jitesh Sharma/Shahrukh Khan, Kagiso Rabada, Harpreet Brar/Sandeep Sharma, Rahul Chahar, Vaibhav Arora, Arshdeep Singh
Gujarat Titans (GT)
With Alzarri Joseph also joining the team after serving his quarantine, GT will now be having all their players available now. Vijay Shankar’s form is a bit of concern and he can be replaced by either Gurkeerat Singh Mann or Wriddhiman Saha. Matthew Wade is still the first-choice opener and Rahmanullah Gurbaz might have to wait for more for his chance. The bowling unit looks stacked and there is no need for changes in the bowling department.
Probable XI: Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Wriddhiman Saha/Vijay Shankar, Hardik Pandya, David Miller
Rahul Tewatia, Abhinav Manohar, Rashid Khan, Lockie Ferguson, Mohammad Shami, Varun Aaron
Fantasy XI suggestion 1:
Matthew Wade, Shubman Gill, Bhanuka Rajapaksa, Shikhar Dhawan, Liam Livingstone (C), Hardik Pandya (VC), Odean Smith, Mohammed Shami, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Liam Livingstone
Fantasy XI suggestion 2:
Matthew Wade, Shubman Gill (VC), Shikhar Dhawan (C), Mayank Agarwal, David Miller, Liam Livingstone, Hardik Pandya, Odean Smith, Kagiso Rabada, Rahul Chahar, Liam Livingstone
