Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
CSK’s left-hander heavy middle-order of Moeen Ali, Ravindra Jadeja, and Shivam Dube will be expected to do well against RCB’s leading wicket-taker Wanindu Hasaranga, and look to accelerate through the middle. The absence of Harshal Patel also dims the quality of one of the better bowling sides this season – an aspect that should buoy the misfiring CSK batting.
Probable XI: Ruturaj Gaikwad, Robin Uthappa, Moeen Ali, Ambati Rayudu, Ravindra Jadeja, Shivam Dube, MS Dhoni, Dwayne Bravo, Chris Jordan, Mukesh Choudhary, Maheesh Theeksana/Dwaine Pretorius/Adam Milne
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB)
Harshal Patel has left the bubble to return home after the unfortunate demise of his sister. CSK have been tentative starters with the bat this year, and RCB will want to keep it that way. David Willey early on gives them a favorable match-up against Ruturaj Gaikwad, who is yet to bat past the PowerPlay and has shown susceptibility against left-arm pacers. CSK spinners’ indifferent start to the season also gives Glenn Maxwell a chance to get going, after only returning to the side in the last fixture.
