The Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) are all set to lock horns with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in their next encounter at the Brabourne Stadium in Match 36 of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022. Both teams are coming off a win in their previous games and RCB especially has been brilliant in recovering from tough situations.

However, RCB would like a lot more contribution from their top-order especially Virat Kohli who has struggled in this season so far. On the other hand, SRH produced an excellent chase in their previous game and their bowling attack looks the most destructive at the moment with all the fast bowlers taking wickets at regular intervals.

The return of Washington Sundar will add to the depth of the bowling attack and the inexperienced middle-order hasn’t been tested yet due to some good bowling performances. However, they will be tested against the RCB bowling line-up. They have locked horns with each other in 20 IPL matches so far and Bangalore has won 8 games and Hyderabad has found victory in 12 matches.

Ahead of the marquee IPL 2022 clash, We take a look at the three player battles to watch out for.

#1 Kane Williamson vs Wanindu Hasaranga

After being dismissed by a leg-spinner thrice in his last four encounters, RCB may tinker with the prospect of pitting Wanindu Hasaranga against SRH skipper, Kane Williamson. Hasaranga has been the side’s leading wicket-taker as he has scalped 11 wickets in 7 matches, while Kane Williamson has led the run-scorers list for SRH with 127 runs from six matches. The skipper against the leggie will be a cracking contest.

#2 Bhuvneshwar Kumar vs Faf du Plessis

Another mouth-watering contest between Faf du Plessis and Bhuvneshwar Kumar will set the tone and perhaps even decide the final outcome. Bhuvneshwar hasn’t been among the wickets in IPL 2022. He has 8 wickets to show in 6 games, and batters seem happy playing him off and finding the odd boundary. Faf has been a busy player in the powerplay, scoring 250 runs from 7 games at a strike rate of 132.27.

#3 Rahul Tripathi vs Jos Hazlewood

RCB will have to bring their A-game as far as their bowling is concerned, and they will be wary of the dangerous form Rahul Tripathi has been since the start of the season. He registered scores of 71, 17*, and 29*in his last three matches and he has looked fluent, flamboyant, and dangerous. Jos Hazlewood has 8 wickets from three games at an economy rate of 7.16.
