In the 37th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Mumbai Indians (MI) will be locking horns with each other in the afternoon game on Sunday. With 4 wins in 7 matches, LSG is placed in the fourth position in the points tally and would be looking to continue being in this position after this match.
LSG has had a few setbacks in the tournament as they have lost 2 out of the previous 3 matches. Their last game was against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) was a loss which they lost by 18 runs. LSG failed to chase a target of 182 runs in that match. Mumbai Indians, on the other hand, are going through a terrible run as they have now lost seven matches on the trot.

MI was there in the last match against Chennai Super Kings (CSK) before a vintage MS Dhoni decided to show why he was called one of the best finishers in limited-overs cricket. MI is almost out of the playoffs race now and they will need a miracle to knock on the doors of the last phase of the tournament.
Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)
While Suryakumar Yadav has been in a form of his life in 2022, LSG has good match-ups to negate his threat. Between Avesh Khan and Ravi Bishnoi, they dismissed Suryakumar four times while conceding only 20 runs in 25 balls. Meanwhile, Avesh has also dismissed Rohit Sharma three times in 13 balls while giving away only 11 runs.
Probable XI: KL Rahul (c), Quinton de Kock (wk), Manish Pandey, Marcus Stoinis, Deepak Hooda, Ayush Badoni, Krunal Pandya, Jason Holder, Dushmantha Chameera, Avesh Khan, Ravi Bishnoi
Mumbai Indians (MI)
Jaydev Unadkat may not be a good option against the LSG openers as Quinton de Kock has massed 53 runs off 35 balls against him without any dismissal even once. Rahul too has a good record against Unadkat, having scored 88 runs in 53 balls while being dismissed only once. Rahul has also scored 124 off 99 balls off Bumrah and has been dismissed twice. LSG skipper had a strike rate of 132.14 against Bumrah before this IPL but it came down to 125.25.
Probable XI: Rohit Sharma (c), Ishan Kishan (wk), Dewald Brevis, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Daniel Sams, M Ashwin/Hrithik Shokeen, Riley Meredith, Jaydev Unadkat, Jasprit Bumrah
