Gujarat Titans (GT) will be locking horns with the Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the 40th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Wankhede Stadium in Mumbai. Both teams have been enjoying a tremendous run in the ongoing IPL season so far and they are already looking like strong contenders to reach the playoffs.
SRH is standing at the second place in the points table with five victories in seven matches and they are coming off a huge win against the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in their last IPL match. On the other hand, GT won a close encounter against the Kolkata Knight Riders and continued their winning streak in the tournament.

In fact, Gujarat Titans’ only loss in the tournament had come against the Sunrisers Hyderabad and they will be looking to settle scores in the upcoming fixture. Under the captaincy of Hardik Pandya is standing at second place on the points table as they have managed to win six games out of the seven they have played so far.

SRH spinners have only bowled just 19 overs in the middle overs so far in seven matches. Instead, they’ve used Malik as an enforcer. Only Harshal Patel has more wickets in this phase this season than Malik. The key will be how the Titans’ middle-order handles Malik and the batters will also have to find a way to score runs.

Things have changed this year with the arrival of Rahul Tripathi, Nicholas Pooran, and Aiden Markram also finding his groove. In IPL 2022, Hyderabad averages 51 between overs 7 and 15 and maintained a strike rate of close to 150. Rashid will be key for GT to win the middle-overs battle as it’ll be crucial to not only pick wickets but also stop the runs.
