In the 56th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022, old rivals Mumbai Indians (MI) and Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) will be locking horns with each other at the Dr DY Patil Sports Academy in Mumbai. It will be the second match between the two teams this season. MI is currently placed at the bottom of the points table of this season as they have won just a couple of matches while KKR is standing at the eighth spot with just 4 wins under their belt in 11 games they have played so far.
Mumbai Indians played ten matches in this season of IPL where they managed to win just a couple of matches. In their last game against Gujarat Titans (GT), MI registered a narrow win by 5 runs. Ishan Kishan and Tim David played match-winning knocks of 45 runs and 44 runs respectively for MI. On the other hand, KKR played their last game against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and suffered a huge loss by 75 runs.

Mumbai Indians (MI)
Riley Meredith could be used to test the KKR batters with bouncers. Even as Andre Russell is having a hold and cold season so far in recent years of IPL, he has rarely had the edge over Jasprit Bumrah in the death overs battle. Bumrah has dismissed the hard-hitting West Indian three times in 49 balls, but conceded runs at a rate of only 134.69.
Probable XI: Ishan Kishan (wk), Rohit Sharma, Suryakumar Yadav, Tilak Varma, Kieron Pollard, Tim David, Daniel Sams, Murugan Ashwin, Kumar Kartikeya/Basil Thampi, Jasprit Bumrah, Riley Meredith
Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR)
Umesh Yadav missed the previous game due to a niggle. It’s unsure if he will be fit for the game against Mumbai Indians. Even as Rohit Sharma has performed consistently well against KKR, Sunil Narine has had his number, dismissing him nine times in 170 balls, conceding runs at a rate of 107.65, Tim Southee has also been fairly successful against Rohit Sharma.
Probable XI: Aaron Finch, Venkatesh Iyer/Ajinkya Rahane, Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Rana, Sheldon Jackson/Baba Indrajith (wk), Andre Russell, Aman Khan/Anukul Roy, Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Umesh Yadav/Harshit Rana, Shivam Mavi

Ishan Kishan, Shreyas Iyer (vc), Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma, Tilak Varma, Nitish Rana, Andre Russell (C), Sunil Narine, Tim Southee, Murugan Ashwin, Jasprit Bumrah
