IPL 2022: Match 6 (RCB vs KKR) – 3 Player Battles To Watch Out For

The sixth match of the ongoing edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will be played between Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and Kolkata Knight Riders (RCB) at the DY Patil Stadium in Navi Mumbai. Royal Challengers Bangalore will be squaring off against Kolkata Knight Riders for the first time in the sixth match of this season of the 15th edition of the IPL.

KKR defeated RCB the last time they faced each other

RCB played their first game of the season against Punjab King (PBKS) and suffered a loss by 5 wickets despite scoring more than 200 runs. Faf du Plessis and Virat Kohli smashed 88 runs and 41 runs respectively for RCB in that game as they lost just two wickets. On the other hand, Kolkata Knight Riders played their first game of the season against Chennai Super Kings where they won the game by 6 wickets.

Ajinkya Rahane scored 44 runs while Umesh Yadav scalped a couple of wickets for Kolkata Knight Riders in that game. These two teams have met a total of 30 times in the IPL before, where Royal Challengers Bangalore won 13 games while KKR has managed to register wins in 17 matches. The RCB skipper, Faf du Plessis has been a revelation for the franchise as he played a captain’s knock in the opening game. Now, with the IPL 2022 has already started, Faf will once again be prepped up to deliver some big knocks. He will be expected to engage in an interesting contest if KKR decides to bowl Chakravarthy in the powerplay. The mystery spinner has already showcased his prowess and it will be interesting to see who wins the battle.

#2 Virat Kohli vs Sunil Narine

Virat Kohli has not been able to do anything special with the batting in the tournament last season, although the team had reached the ‘Playoffs’, Virat Kohli will be expected to bat better this year. He played an unbeaten knock in the opening game for RCB. On the other hand, even for Sunil Narine, the tournament did not bring many results last season. The franchise would expect Narineto be at its best in this season.

The Caribbean stars has been known for smacking the ball hard. Andre Russel has played plenty of games for the West Indies, and thus as the experience of hitting the long ball. Andre Russell’s highest IPL score is an unbeaten 88 against CSK in 2018. However, he will find it difficult to faced Harshal Patel, who has been performing death bowling resposibilities.Â
