Rajasthan Royals (RR) and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) will be locking horns with each other in the 68th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 at the Brabourne Stadium in Mumbai, on Friday. For RR, the equation is simple as they need to win the game against CSK to secure second place and two shots at reaching the IPL final.
RR is currently placed third in the points table and already has one foot in the playoffs. They were very impressive in the previous match and will be looking forward to continuing good performance. Chennai Super Kings have had a very disappointing campaign as they failed to qualify after managing to win just 4 out of the 13 matches in the season so far this season.

CSK will be playing the match for pride and look to take some positives to the next season. In Super Kings’ previous game, they made four changes that they were looking ahead to the young players who can do well in IPL 2023. In the 26 meetings between the two sides in IPL so far, CSK is leading the charts 15-11 against RR in the head-to-head battles. In the last 5 meetings, however, it’s 3-2 in favor of RR.
Rajasthan Royals (RR)
Dwayne Bravo has dismissed Jos Buttler three times in past IPL games. However, against CSK, Buttler has scored 265 runs in 6 innings, with a strike rate close to 150. RR will hope Buttler can add to that tally in a crucial game for their campaign and take some momentum into the playoffs. Buttler, who had amassed 491 runs in the first 7 matches, has managed to score just 136 in the last six games
Probable XI: Yashasvi Jaiswal, Jos Buttler, Sanju Samson (c & wk), Devdutt Padikkal, Shimron Hetmyer, Riyan Parag, Ravichandran Ashwin, Trent Boult, Prasidh Krishna, Yuzvendra Chahal, Obed McCoy
Chennai Super Kings (CSK)
In their last game against GT, CSK failed to score a boundary in the slog overs. Rayudu and Uthappa, who missed the last game are likely to make a comeback for the final game of the season. Uthappa though has been dismissed 7 times by Ashwin, who also has a strong record against Rayudu. They may have to opt for an extra battery and drop a seamer on a ground that favors spinners.
