The 8th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2022 will see the clash between Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) and Punjab Kings (PBKS) at the Wankhede Stadium. KKR is currently placed at the fifth position on the points table of this season whereas PBKS  standing comfortably in third place on the points table.

Kolkata Knight Riders played two matches this season where they won one game while Punjab Kings played one game in this season where they won that game. KKR played their last game against Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and suffered a loss by 3 wickets. Andre Russell scored 25 runs and grabbed 3 wickets for KKR in that game.

On the other hand, PBKS also played their only game against RCB where they won the game by 5 wickets. Shikhar Dhawan and Bhanuka Rajapaksa smashed 43 runs each for Punjab Kings in that game. PBKS and KKR have played 29 IPL matches against each other in the history of IPL where Kolkata Knight Riders won 19 games while Punjab Kings managed to win 10 matches.

#1 Mayank Agarwal vs Umesh Yadav

Umesh Yadav ended up with figures of 4-0-20-2 against CSK in KKR’s IPL 2022 opener. Even against he took crucial wickets of Virat Kohli and Anuj Rawat. His spell was as incredible as it could get. Mayank Agarwal, meanwhile, gave a valuable lesson in PBKS’ last match on how a batter with intent could accelerate despite a slow start. It will thus be a cracking contest between pace and panache when Mayank and Yadav face off.

#2 Shreyas Iyer vs Rahul Chahar

The KKR skipper, Shreyas Iyer has been a revelation for the franchise as he played a captain’s knock in the opening game. Now, with the IPL 2022 has already started, Iyer will once again be prepped up to deliver some big knocks. He will be expected to engage in an interesting contest Rahul Chahar usual bowls in middle-overs, which is the period Shreyas is known for mastering. The leg-spinner has already showcased his prowess and it will be interesting to see who wins the battle.

#2 Shahrukh Khan vs Sunil Narine

Shahrukh Khan has not been able to do anything special with the batting in the tournament last season, although the team had also failed to reach the ‘Playoffs’, he will be expected to bat better this year. He played an unbeaten knock in the opening game against RCB. On the other hand, even for Sunil Narine, the tournament did not bring many results last season. The franchise would expect him to be at his best this season.
