The Indian Premier League (IPL) mega-auction for the upcoming edition of 2022 has started in Bengaluru and it will be engrossing to see how each of the teams finally shapes up. Here is what the Delhi Capitals (DC) are up to in the auctions.
Retained Players: Rishabh Pant (₹16 crores), Axar Patel (₹9 crores, ₹12 crores to be deducted from purse), Prithvi Shaw (₹7.5 crores, ₹8 crores to be deducted from purse), Anrich Nortje (₹6.5 crores)

#1 David Warner – ₹6.25 Crores
The explosive opening batter, David Warner went under the hammer during the IPL 2022 mega-auction and Delhi Capitals have started the bidding war alongside Chennai Super Kings. Five-time IPL champions Mumbai Indians also showed some interest for Warner, but Capitals eventually managed to steal the southpaw opener for just ₹6.25 Crores.
#2 Mitchell Marsh – ₹6.5 Crores
Australia 2021 T20 World Cup final hero, Mitchell Marsh went under the hammer in the IPL 2022 mega-auction. Sunrisers Hyderabad was looking to get back their former player. Gujarat Titans had also joined the bidding war. In the end, Delhi Capitals joined in the race to sign the Aussie all-rounder and they bought his services eventually for ₹6.5 Crores.
#3 Shardul Thakur – ₹10.75 Crores
Lord Shardul Thakur was expected to fetch huge numbers in IPL 2022 mega auction and he ignited a bidding ar between Punjab Kings and Gujarat Titans. And no surprise, Chennai Super Kings also showed interest in getting Shardul back. Just when Chennai backed out Punjab and DC are battling hard as Lord Shardul has breached the 10 crore mark. Eventually, DC roped in Shardul Thakur For ₹10.75 Crores.
#4 Mustafizur Rahman – ₹2 Crores
The Bangladesh pacer, Mustafizure Rahamna failed to find a bidder in the start. However, after a brief silence, Delhi Capitals open the bid and eventually managed to sign Mustafizur Rahman for just ₹2 Crores. Steal of the day.
#4 Kuldeep Yadav – ₹2 Crores
The Indian chinaman spinner, Kuldeep Yadav went under the hammer in IPl 2022 mega-auction and Delhi Capitals open the bidding war and soon, Punjab Kings joined in. It was another steal for DC as they got Kuldeep Yadav for just ₹2 crores.
#5 Ashwin Hebbar – ₹20 Lakhs
Delhi Capitals managed to signs Ashwin Hebbar for a base price of ₹20 Lakhs.
#5 Sarfaraz Khan – ₹20 Lakhs
Delhi Capitals managed to steal Sarfaraz Khan for a base price of ₹20 Lakhs.
#6 Kamlesh Nagarkoti – ₹1.1 crores
The promising pacer was up for grab and KKR straightaway decided to rehire their former seamer. Delhi Capitals join the bidding war to catch up with KKR. In the end, Delhi Capitals signed Kamlesh Nagarkoti for ₹1.10 crores.
#7 KS Bharat – ₹2 crores
The talented India wicketkeeper, KS Bharat was up for grab, and Delhi Capitals open the bid with CSK joining in later, but the Capitals managed to grabbed the gloveman for ₹2 crores.
