IPL 2022: MI Suffers A Huge Blow, Suryakumar Yadav Ruled Out Of The Tournament

Mumbai Indians (MI), the most successful team in the Indian Premier League (IPL), have suffered a major setback in the ongoing season in 2022. The team’s key batter Suryakumar Yadav has been ruled out of the remaining matches of the season due to injury. The news of Suryakumar’s injury came to the fore ahead of the match against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) on Monday (May 9).

Earlier in the season, Suryakumar Yadav had missed the first few matches of the IPL due to a thumb injury. Yadav got injured during the team’s match against Gujarat Titans on May 6, 2022.

In an official press release from the IPL regarding the injury of Suryakumar Yadav, he said, “Suryakumar sustained the injury during the team’s fixture against Gujarat Titans on May 6.”

Suryakumar Yadav managed to play just eight matches in the current season of IPL. He could not play in the first two matches of the team. He scored three fifties this season, but could not improve the performance of the Mumbai team. Mumbai’s team is already out of the race to reach the playoffs of IPL 2022 after losing eight out of 10 matches.

Suryakumar Yadav is the second-highest run-scorer for the team in the current season. He has scored 303 runs in eight matches. During this time, he averaged 43.29 and a strike rate of 145.67. Tilak Verma has scored more runs for the team than him.
