Rajasthan Royals (RR) will be hosting Delhi Capitals (DC) in the 11th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at the Barsapara Stadium in Guwahati. Under the captaincy of Sanju Samson, RR will be heading into the game after suffering a close loss against Punjab Kings (PBKS) by a narrow margin of five runs at the same venue. Despite the loss, Sanju Samson, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmyer proved their worth with bat.
While Rajasthan Royals commenced their campaign kicked off their campaign at IPL 2023 with a win over KKR, DC is yet to return with a win this year. David Warner and his men succumbed to a 50-run loss against Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in their first match this season.

The defending champions Gujarat Giants then picked up a six-wicket win in DC’s maiden home game earlier this week. Heading into the game, RR opener Jos Buttler is expected to miss the game due to a finger injury that he suffered in the last game. RR and DC have clashed a total of 26 times against each other in the past. Interestingly, both teams have registered 13 wins against each other. The last time both teams clashed in the IPL, DC defeated RR by eight wickets.
On that note, here are three-player matchups to watch out for from the RR vs DC in the IPL 2023 contest in Guwahati.
#3 Sanju Samson vs Axar Patel
RR Skipper Sanju Samson can also give DC bowlers a massive headache in the upcoming match. Axar Patel can be introduced to keep the power-hitting bater at the bay. The left-arm spinner has dismissed Samson twice in 11 IPL meetings. The latter has accumulated 67 runs off 60 deliveries against him. Overall, however, Samson strikes at 142.74 against left-arm spinners in his IPL.
#2 David Warner vs Trent Boult
As David Warner and Trent Boult open the proceedings in their respective departments for their franchises, they are bound to face each at some point in time. The southpaw has struggled to get going against Boult, having fallen prey to him twice in 11 T20 meetings. He has a paltry strike rate of 98.46 in this battle. Boult is known for swinging the ball away from the left-handers and the same can trouble Warner.
#1 Rovman Powell vs Yuzvendra Chahal
Rovman Powell played a fiery knock of 36 off 15 against the Royals last year, although in the losing cause. He would be raring to replicate his heroics. As leg-spinners have troubled him in the past, Yuzvendra Chahal can operate against him. The Caribbean batter has been dismissed by the leggies 11 times in 31 T20 meetings (Batting SR: 117). Chahal kept Powell quiet in a couple of T20 meetings.
