The 30th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played between the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) and Gujarat Titans (GT) at the Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow on Saturday, April 22. The Lucknow Super Giants come into the game on the back of a commanding win over the Rajasthan Royals. While the likes of KL Rahul and Nicholas Pooran have shown glimpses of their form with the bat, it has been Lucknow’s bowling unit that has been delivering well in most of the games so far.
The Titans have won three out of five games this season and are placed in the fourth position in the points table. In their previous match, they also faced the Royals but failed to get over the line in a very close game despite being in a commanding situation. The defending champions are also coming back from a five-day break, giving them the opportunity for a new take on what’s been an inconsistent campaign at best.

Quinton de Kock batted beside KL Rahul during practice but after Mayers’ fifty in the last match, it looks unlikely that he will get a crack. Mark Wood wasn’t in the XI in Jaipur and he’s unlikely to play the afternoon match, especially with Naveen-ul-Haq doing well in his absence. The Afghanistan pacer looked unflappable bowling to the likes of Jos Buttler, Shimron Hetmyer, and Yashasvi Jaiswal on his IPL debut and will be keen to replicate his performance.

Expect Rashid Khan to bowl in the PowerPlay to KL Rahul, whom he has dismissed thrice already. The LSG opener averages 6 and strikes at 60 against the legspinner.
