Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) will be hosting the Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in the 43rd match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 at Ekana Stadium in Lucknow. Both teams have played 8 games so far this season. LSG has won 5 of their 8 matches so far and is placed third on the points table. They have gathered 10 points to their tally and a net run rate of +0.841.

On the other hand, Royal Challengers Bangalore have won 4 of their 8 games so far, and are placed 5th on the points table. They have 8 points under their belt with a net run rate of -0.139. At Ekana Stadium, the surface often helps the spin bowlers, and batting becomes more challenging as the game progresses. As a result, it is likely that the team winning the toss will choose to bat first.

Marcus Stoinis will have to prove his fitness through a test on Sunday (April 30). The Aussie all-rounder had hurt his finger in the previous match after being hit by an Atharva Taide drive on his follow-through. Stoinis had to leave the field at that point but Badoni reckoned on the eve of the fixture that it was a minor injury.

Probable XI: KL Rahul (c), Kyle Mayers, Marcus Stoinis/Quinton de Kock, Ayush Badoni, Nicholas Pooran (wk), Deepak Hooda, Krunal Pandya, Naveen Ul-Haq, Ravi Bishnoi, Avesh Khan, Yash Thakur/Yudhvir Singh Charak

The fitness status of Josh Hazlewood is still unknown, but he was seen training during RCB’s day fixture on April 23 but was not bowling in the nets on Sunday in Lucknow. Harshal Patel could be RCB’s man to put breaks on Marcus Stoinis, who averages 169.12 against RCB but has found it tough to put away Harshal in his previous face-offs against the pacer. If Harshal hasn’t managed to completely recover from his hand injury, he will not be risked during the batting innings and could be used as an impact player.

Probable XI: Virat Kohli, Faf du Plessis, Shahbaz Ahmed, Glenn Maxwell, Mahipal Lomror, Dinesh Karthik, Suyash Prabhudessai/Karn Sharma, David Willey, Wanindu Hasaranga, Vijaykumar Vyshak, Mohammed Siraj
