The 64th match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played between Punjab Kings (PBKS) and Delhi Capitals (DC) at the HPCA Stadium in Dharamsala. PBKS is currently placed at the eighth position on the points table of this season of IPL whereas DC is currently placed at the bottom of the points table. The hosts have played twelve matches in this season of the IPL where they won six matches.
On the other hand, the visitors also played twelve matches this season and they managed to win four matches. Punjab Kings played their last match against Delhi Capitals where they won that game by 31 runs. Prabhsmiran Singh hammered 103 runs for Punjab Kings in that game.

Kagiso Rabada didn’t play for PBKS this month and Wasim Jaffer, the batting coach, said his exclusion had to do with Nathan Ellis’s death bowling skills but the South African pacer is a likely contender for this match considering the pacy nature of the Dharamsala wickets. He bowled an extended spell during the practice session on the eve of the game, bowling with a lot of pacer and even troubled Shikhar Dhawan who was otherwise sending the ball to the roof quite regularly.

Like Dhawan, David Warner too spent some quality time in the nets as he smashed boundaries often, as did Rovman Powell who treated pace and spin equally harshly. Although he hasn’t been picked to play for more than a month now, Powell could find a place in the team, possibly in place of Rilee Rossouw. It could serve DC well if they consider the pace of Anrich Nortje at the expense of an overseas batter.
