The seventh match of the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 will be played between the Gujarat Titans (GT) and Delhi Capitals (DC) on Tuesday, April 3. The Gujarat Titans had the perfect start to their IPL trophy defense, as registered a win over the Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at home courtesy of impressive performances from Rashid Khan and Shubman Gill.

Although they will be without Kane Williamson for the rest of the season, Gujarat has a balanced side with David Miller likely to slot in for Williamson. The Delhi Capitals, meanwhile, were outplayed by the Lucknow Super Giants (LSG), with only David Warner and Khaleel Ahmed able to hold their own with the bat and ball, respectively.

Nevertheless, DC also have a strong roster with Anrich Nortje expected to make a comeback into the XI. Delhi Capitals and Gujarat Titans have played just 1 match against each other in the IPL. Gujarat Titans emerged victorious by a small margin of 14 runs. With both teams looking for an all-important win, a cracking game of cricket beckons in Delhi.

The Capitals are missing their captain Rishabh Pant as David Warner is leading them this season. They were bamboozled by Mark Wood in the first match and were outplayed in all departments. Ahead of the clash against the Titans, DC head coach Ricky Ponting will be tempted to make some changes.

DC may bring in Lalit Yadav, who had a decent outing last season. Chetan Sakariya also went expensive in the last match, and someone like Aman Khan can come into the starting lineup for him. DC roped in young wicketkeeper Abhishek Porel as a replacement for Pant. The explosive batter can be used as an impact player against the Titans.

Probable XI: David Warner (C), Prithvi Shaw, Mitchell Marsh, Rilee Rossouw, Sarfaraz Khan, Rovman Powell, Axar Patel, Kuldeep Yadav, Aman Hakim Khan, Khaleel Ahmed, Mukesh Kumar

Impact players: Manish Pandey, Lalit Yadav, Abhishek Porel, and Kamlesh Nagarkoti

Gujarat Titans won the match against CSK in style, but they will be missing Kane Williamson for the whole tournament. Williamson is ruled out for the season with a new injury and the Kiwi’s absence will be a big blow, especially as David Miller is yet to join the squad. The Titans will be hoping to stick with their core for the Delhi tie.

Shubman Gill and Wriddhiman Saha will be opening the bat and we may see Sai Sudharsan, who came on as an Impact Player last match, maybe slotted in the first team. Big-money signing Shivam Mavi was not in the playing XI in the last match but may make a return to the substitutes bench if GT bats first. It will also be a return home for the Titans head coach Ashish Nehra, who hails from Delhi and has played for Delhi Capitals in the past.

Probable XI: Wriddhiman Saha, Shubman Gill, Matthew Wade, Sai Sudharsan, Hardik Pandya, Vijay Shankar, Rahul Tewatia, Rashid Khan, Mohammed Shami, Shivam Mavi, Alzarri Joseph

Impact players: Jayant Yadav, KS Bharat, Mohit Sharma, Abhinav Manohar

Fantasy XI Suggestion 1:

Sarfaraz Khan, Wriddhiman Saha, Prithvi Shaw (c), Shubman Gill (vc), David Warner, David Miller, Hardik Pandya, Rovman Powell, Rashid Khan, Alzarri Joseph, Mohammed Shami

Fantasy XI Suggestion 2:

Wriddhiman Saha, David Warner (c), Prithvi Shaw, Shubman Gill, Mitchell Marsh, Axar Patel, Hardik Pandya (vc), Mohammed Shami, Kuldeep Yadav, Rashid Khan, Khaleel Ahmed
