IPL 2024 has been going on in full swing as the fifth week has finished on a high note. While Sunrisers Hyderabad successfully managed to post massive totals, Royal Challengers Bengaluru are still struggling with their form. Here we will look at how the teams performed in the fifth week of the tournament.

Here is how all teams performed in the fifth week of IPL 2024:

Match 30: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru – Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 25 runs

Hits: M.Chinnaswamy Stadium, Bengaluru witnessed the highest-ever total by Sunrisers Hyderabad – 287/3 in 20 overs, courtesy of Travis Head’s stunning hundred. Heinrich Klaasen also scored quickly. On the other hand, Virat Kohli, and Faf du Plessis started the chase well before Dinesh Karthik played a scintillating knock.
Misses: Bowlers, RCB’s middle-order failed to step up.

Match 31: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Rajasthan Royals – Rajasthan Royals won by 2 wickets

Hits: Eden Gardens, Kolkata witnessed a thrilling match between KKR and RR. Sunil Narine and Jos Buttler both smashed centuries and Jos sealed the deal at the end.

Misses: Bowlers and middle-order failed to step up on both sides.

Match 32: Gujarat Titans vs Delhi Capitals – Delhi Capitals won by 6 wickets

Hits: Delhi Capitals bowlers did exceptionally well at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad as they bundled GT by a below-par score.
Misses: GT managed only 89 runs where every batter failed. DC were no less as they lost 4 wickets to reach the small target.

Match 33: Mumbai Indians vs Punjab Kings – Mumbai Indians won by 9 runs

Hits: Massive relief for Mumbai Indians as they finally won after a long time in the tournament. Suryakumar Yadav and Tilak Varma stepped up and scored well as did Shashank Singh and Ashutosh Sharma for PBKS. Jasprit Bumrah did well with a 3 for 21 at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur in Chandigarh
Misses: While most of the batters failed for MI, PBKS batters are no different. They struggled to get going and their form is a serious matter of concern moving forward.

Match 34: Chennai Super Kings vs Lucknow Super Giants – Lucknow Super Giants won by 8 wickets

Hits: Bharat Ratna Shri Atal Bihari Vajpayee Ekana Cricket Stadium in Lucknow witnessed a complete dominance of the home team.  CSK had a slow start where Ravindra Jadeja scored 57. But the middle and lower middle -order couldn’t contribute much. While chasing, Quinton de Kock and KL Rahul did the bulk of the runs and helped the side win.

Misses: Bowlers failed to do well.

Lucknow Super Giants (LSG)

Match 35: Sunrisers Hyderabad vs Delhi Capitals – Sunrisers Hyderabad won by 67 runs

Hits: Arun Jaitley Stadium in Delhi witnessed a massive total again by Sunrisers Hyderabad. Travis Head, Abhishek Sharma and Shahbaz Ahmed stepped up with the bat. Kuldeep Yadav claimed 4 wickets. Jake Fraser-McGurk, Abhishek Porel and Rishabh Pant also scored well. T Natarajan scalped a four-fer.
Misses: DC batters couldn’t contribute much to win the game. Also, their bowlers failed to restrict the opponent.

Match 36: Kolkata Knight Riders vs Royal Challengers Bengaluru – Kolkata Knight Riders won by 1 run

Hits: Eden Gardens, Kolkata saw a nail-biting thriller between KKR and RCB where KKR managed a decent total. However, RCB batters too did well, especially Karn Sharma’s quick cameo apart from Will Jacks and Rajat Patidar’s quickfire fifties.
Misses: Bowlers failed miserably to restrict opponents.

Match 37: Punjab Kings vs Gujarat Titans – Gujarat Titans won by 3 wickets

Hits: Rahul Tewatia starred with the bat at the Maharaja Yadavindra Singh International Cricket Stadium, Mullanpur in Chandigarh and sealed the deal.
Misses: PBKS failed to perform in all three departments. GT batters too couldn’t do well.
