IPL 2025 Auction: Gujarat Titans (GT) Secure Jos Buttler For 15.75 Crore

The Indian Premier League (IPL) 2025 mega auction has taken place on November 24 and 25, 2024 at Jeddah in Saudi Arabia. The two-day mega auction – which takes place once every three years – will see some renowned players go under the hammer as well, including Rishabh Pant, Mitchell Starc, KL Rahul, Jos Buttler and to name a few.

The 10 IPL franchises will take part in the auction, where a total of 577 players enter the bidding process as well. Among them, 367 will be Indian, while 210 are overseas as well. Moreover, each IPL team must have at least 18 players in their roster at the end of the auction as well.

Here are the players Gujarat Titans retained before the mega auction.

Retained Players: Rashid Khan, Shubman Gill, Sai Sudharsan, Rahul Tewatia, Shahrukh Khan

GT: 69 crore – Remaining slots – 20, Overseas 7

During Auction

Kagiso Rabada: The SA pacer had a base price of INR 2 crore. RCB started the bidding for Rabada and soon GT joined. The bid quickly crossed 5 crores. MI entered the bidding with 5.25 crore and went to 8.25 crore.

But RCB returned with 8.50 crore. While PBKS had an option to RTM, they didn’t use that for Rabada. And, GT acquired Kagiso Rabada for 10.75 crore.

Jos Buttler: England wicketkeeper-batter Jos Buttler had a base price of 2 crore. His previous team RR opened the bidding and GT joined the bidding soon as well and the bid went past 8 crore. However, both teams continued to bid aggressively. And, he was eventually sold to GT for 15.75 crore.

Mohammed Siraj: He entered with a base price of INR 2 crore. Gujarat Titans started the bidding with CSK. And, the bids went past INR 8.25 crore with CSK finally backing out. And, soon the bid crossed the 10 crore mark as well and Siraj went to Titans for INR 12.25 crore.

Prasidh Krishna: India fast bowler Prasidh Krishna entered at a 2 crore base price. RR opened the bidding for him and GT also jumped in and they had a tough bid for him as well with GT sealing the deal for 9.5 crore as well.

Nishant Sindhu: He had a base price of 30 lakh and GT bought him at that price only.

Mahipal Lomror: He had a base of 50 lakh. RR started the bidding and the bids were raised past the 1 crore mark soon enough. And, Titans raised the bid to 1.70 crore and bought him as well.

Kumar Kushagra: CSK raised their paddle at INR 30 lakh. Soon PBKS too joined and they came in at INR 40 lakh. GT joined at 55 lakh but CSK are at it. At 65 lakh, GT bought him as DC said no to the RTM option.

Anuj Rawat: He had a base price of INR 30 lakh. Only GT have their paddle up for him and bought him as well.

Manav Suthar: Manav Suthar entered the bid at 30 lakh. He was with GT last season and GT opened the bidding and eventually bought him.

Washington Sundar: Washington Sundar entered the bid at 2 crore. GT made the first bid for him after some time and LSG too jumped in at 2.2 crore as well. GT eventually bought him for 3.2 crore.

Gerald Coetzee: He had a base price of 1.25 crore and Gujarat Titans went for Coetzee at 1.25 crore. Kings also raised the bid further and the bid went past 2 crore and Coetzee was sold to GT for INR 2.4 crore.

Arshad Khan: DC and PBKS started the bidding for the allrounder. The bids wenr to INR 80 lakh with GT took it beyond 1 crore and they get Arshad for INR 1.3 crore eventually.

Gurnoor Brar: He was with GT last year and CSK started the bid at INR 30 lakh, PBKS also jumped in it. GT came in at INR 65 lakh. The price has gone past INR 1 crore, and Titans have him at INR 1.3 crore.

Sherfane Rutherford: The West Indies allrounder entered with INR 1.5 crore. GT started the bid before MI jumped in to take the price beyond 2.5 crore. GT finally got him for INR 2.6 crore as well.

R Sai Kishore: The veteran spinner entered with INR 75 lakh. SRH raised the paddle and then PBKS joined in. They took it up to INR 90 lakh. PBKS had the winning bid and GT exercised their RTM. PBKS raised it to INR 2 crore and GT want him back.

Jayant Yadav: Haryana allrounder Jayant Yadav entered with 75 lakh and GT bought him.

Ishant Sharma: GT got Ishant Sharma at the base price of INR 75 lakh.

Glenn Phillips: Glenn Phillips entered with 2 crore and was sold to GT for 2 crore.

Karim Janat: He was sold to GT for 75 lakh.

Kulwant Khejroliya: GT got him at base price of 30 lakh.
